  1. Helped build one of those doors for my Grandpa in Adams WI. The light was great, the heat in the winter from the light was nice too. Felt like tooth picks before the door was rigged. Once it was rigged it was really nice. I’m sure that door is still on the hangar. 35y later. -Matt
  2. Both the last two owner photos did not have the correct drain connected to the pump. I have a little AN Union extension with a little 1/4 in line exiting the pump. I don’t think I would want to have it plugged as in a few of the photos. I screen shot the correct oring for the filter, thanks for the photo of the SB drawing. -Matt
  3. Wax Lace cord! ;-) -Matt
  4. Common practice. I do it when I need to. Some are not comfortable with it. No sense having an unknown but low quantity in a tank. I want to know if a tank is done or not. Most flights it doesn’t matter. Some flights it does. I’m also comfortable landing with <8g of gas or so. That’s an hour of fuel. But 4g in each wing would not be as ideal as 8g in one wing. The fuel flow meters are very accurate, you can also sense when the engine will stumble by watching the fuel pressure flicker. -Matt
  5. I work with Bob McGrath at VNY on various projects and would recommend his services. PCAM is his business name. There are a few others here that use him. He’s been working on aircraft a long time!! I am not one to recommend a single Mooney service center except TopGun. He can be reached at (818) 336-7215 -Matt
  6. I have 40x24 in my notes that I used for carpet. -Matt
  7. Just was pm’d by this goof from my questions above. Probably not the op. new member log on 47min ago. -Matt
  8. I’ll take the nose inner hub cap. what do you need for the inspection panels? What color are they? Finally, what PN are the taxi lamps? -Matt
  9. VNY- The green fencing around airtel has been removed. They cleaned up the hotel a bit. I think they are taking reservations again. Bad part is they gave up the ramp space to Aero. They operate a fleet of embraer legacy’s. There are about three of them parked on the ramp daily. They run it like a little airline. -Matt
  10. I work out of VNY and SMO. SMO City tie downs might work for you. Atlantic SMO has a small community hanger that can accommodate. Just call ahead and ask. Landing fee isn’t bad. $10.96. Or 5.48/1000 lbs GW. If you go into SMO I’ll buy ya a coffee and keep an eye on it for you. Wish we had extra hangar space. -Matt
  11. Great Ad! Wish more people took the time do document things like yourself. Looks like a well cared for airplane. Good Luck, -Matt
  12. On my calipers. I used PN: MS28775-326 Older M20E. There were several orings used. This one sealed the best. Someone on here provided me the reference years ago. -Matt
  13. Sure seems that way. Many are over torqued. 26in lbs on silicone. 50in lbs on cork. -Matt
  14. What model? I have a 335D. Love it. On the OP questions. I’ve had one sure-fly fail and an earthx battery fail. ON THE SAME AIRPLANE In less than 100h since new. I’ve also have had the electronic air branded mags fail. 3 sets of coils on those in less than 400h. This stuff is just not where the sales teams say it is yet. I would be very careful!! -Matt
  15. Thanks John. The PM section says you are unable to receive messages. I’ll take 4. Thanks for your contribution to the community. -Matt
  16. Yes most Voltage regulators will have an adjustment screw. 14.0-14.2 will be fine. -Matt
  17. I installed a G1 drop in replacement for mine. I’ve also installed their drop in G2 replacement in other aircraft. The older LCD units will drop bars individually when they fail. Your issue does sound like a probe issue. They have tiny screws that could develop corrosion on the attachment leads of the probes. -Matt
  18. What light bulb socket is under the floor? My right nav light won’t work with an LED lamp. Only an old Grimes bulb. Time to get out the ohm meter. -Matt
  19. I’m just glad he’s back! Have fun! -Matt
  20. Just don’t use the Fluorosilicon blue o-rings with hydraulic fluid. I’ve had the set pin back out of the safe-air valves. What you have is a proven design. One just needs to change the oring once ever 25y. Lol. -Matt
  21. I can’t stand the safe air ones! -Matt
  22. 1. M83248/1-109. Just installed one myself. Would you believe that unit will seal completely metal to metal with out an oring! Mobile jet 2 was the oil. 2. Gallon zip lock bag. -Matt
  23. 1 & 2 could both be the same issue. Check the pressure screen gasket to make sure you installed the correct gasket on the pressure screen. There are 3 types of gaskets. Depends on what screen, and filter set up you have. 3. What makes you think you have an intake leak? Fuel Stains? many times the tabs for the intake tube are overtorqued and bowed. Take the tube off and file the edges down on a flat surface. Also, intake tube can hang up on the lip of the riser and not fully seat. The tube should seal on its own with no spooge . Also, the oring on the sump has two different part numbers as well. The sump can ware a grove where it won’t seal on the sump. That’s all I can think of, -Matt
  24. Pulled a PT6 in July last year. Just received it back from OH this month. Stabbed it on today. Seems that way across the board with regards to timing. -Matt
