  1. Make sure the software version on the 430, matches the drawing you have. On the 530 with current software. The lower connector no longer uses pins 60-64. The RS232 needs to go into the upper connector for rs232. The drawing I had said that 60-64 were available for RS232. Wired everything up…. No 232 data!!! -Matt
  2. We have it installed on our big jet at work. Trying to wait for the STC was tough. Waiting on an STC for our Citation to become available. Might just do what you did for the Citation. Shoot…Mooney for that matter. Love your install Rage, -Matt
  3. Have any moonies flipped due to the gear down off field like Cessnas do? The lower CG might suggest to land gear down all the time off field. I’f everything goes ok, you’d still have a salvageable airplane. -Matt
  4. That was excellent!! Thanks a bunch! That’s exactly what happened! So removing the approach and adding airports at the end of the flight plan! got it! -Matt
  5. I’ll try and brainstorm how it happened. I remember being on the ground at Oxnard, loading an approach to a nearby airport at CMA. We changed the approach, then ultimately the destination. All I remember is I needed to turn the GNS off to clear the destination. I’ll try loading the last fix as the new airport next time in the FLT Plan, but that wouldn’t give access to its approaches. Even with Collins, new airports are required to input in the Destination with a new flight plan. Even then, one still needs to be in Heading mode. again sorta un common, well mitigated, but frustrating. -Matt
  6. What’s the deal with the greater than 24" restriction? Is that a Canadian thing or a Scimitar STC restriction. Im not familiar, -Matt
  7. I think the hub alone would be worth 5k. -Matt
  8. I’d like to press and hold “CLR” now thanks! Now back to Mike’s original post! Which I hope generates more professional responses. What I would like to learn better on the GNS 530 is once you load an approach and cruising along. How can you do a destination change in the flight plan page, or change approaches with out having to wipe out the current fix. Maybe for any Collins guys, like a Direct Previous function? I remember loading an approach on the ground for a near by airport. Taking off then having the controller switch approaches which could have changed some of the initial waypoints. I’ve mitigated this in the past by not even loading an approach I was wasn’t actually cleared for. I mean with out turning the box off. -Matt
  9. Keep that B hub you have. Seems like it should pass OH without issue since the last 2015 inspection. -Matt
  10. To the OP- just get your IA! -Matt
  11. A 60yo M20E will do those numbers all day. It’s ok, you’ll come full circle again :-) -Matt
  12. I’ll confirm the -326 oring should be correct. Used this on my 65E a few years ago. Had the same issue confirming. -Matt
  13. OP has a Bravo. That’s a Turbo Lycoming. Not much adjustment on the Lycoming system in the field. Completely different injection system than the Continental info people are reciting. I used to run all FI Lycoming’s with a 200 rpm rise thinking richer was better. More idle fuel just fowls plugs. I now follow the book, A rise of 50 rpm is a lot. Lean it out a few turns with the adjustment arm/linkage. Also, if you can no longer get a rise at 900 RPM when pulling the mixture, the fuel servo needs overhaul as the diaphragm needs replacing. Had a similar issue with an E model, couldn’t get a rise during a few oil changes/adjustments. Ended up loosing the engine in cruise at 6500ft… -Matt
  14. Took mine apart for inspection today. Gear was fine, but the drive coupling had exploded. Other things to check. I wasn’t aware they would frag out like this. Found the missing piece in the belly on a stringer. Textron sells the B100-06 PN. learned a few things today. -Matt
  15. Welcome Back! That’s life, At least you still have your old Mooney!! -Matt
  16. I have one in my 944 too. There is a replaceable lamp that back-lights the numbers. Neat little clock. -Matt
  17. Collins makes the ice detectors for Gulfstream. Still a really sad day. The videos still sound like one propeller is feathered. Sounded like low rotor on a helicopter. -Matt
  18. For reference attached pictures. First one PN 06B23862 is for the oil filter adaptor. PN 61173 is for the pressure screen only. If you run an oil filter and it mounted on the back of the case use PN 06B23862. -Matt
  19. The factory non-filter pressure screen housing, and the factory oil filter housing all have different part number gaskets. I had the original pressure screen gasket on my factory oil filter housing installation. The gasket ported the oil differently and never sent oil to the cooler. I maintain several airplanes that don’t have the filter housing just the old screens so I just grabbed an old pressure screen gasket. The oil filter housing gasket is different vs the P-screen. -Matt
  20. What gasket did the pressure housing get? There are three. Mine was incorrect after I overhauled mine. IPC isnt the clearest. -Matt
  21. They make a neat adapter top for those bottles that down sizes the spout down to a little smaller than a Gatorade bottle. Super nice for not spilling things on your lap. It spins on and off better than the wide mouth lids. -Matt
  22. It’s good. Atlantic runs the ramp. Pretty easy. Uber isn’t the greatest in the area. good Italian restaurant just east of the airport. -Matt
  23. If the thin beveled washer-spring is cracked in the master cylinder the pedal will feel soft. There can be some confusion with orings in the calipers too. -Matt.
  24. You should be able to bill mileage at the current .56¢/ mi rate. or whatever it is this year. My employer had issue with FBO fuel receipts with un-managed aircraft tail numbers on the receipts. So I don’t submit those anymore. As mentioned, a contractor can do whatever they want, and employee needs to be more careful. If it’s that much easier, I’d just fly, get the job done, and “eat“ the cost. Make the difference up with a few nice company meals. -Matt
  25. Helped build one of those doors for my Grandpa in Adams WI. The light was great, the heat in the winter from the light was nice too. Felt like tooth picks before the door was rigged. Once it was rigged it was really nice. I’m sure that door is still on the hangar. 35y later. -Matt
