  1. Today
  2. ~160TAS for me at conservative 65% or so ROP
  3. Ahh autocorrect, makes sense now
  4. I got the plane back today. The issue was a sticky downlock switch. Apparently this will cause the gear to not extend if it is stuck in the ground position.
  5. I read somewhere that LASAR was taking over the lease. It doesn't make sense for them to take over production is there is no facility to produce from.
  6. Red "Roll" flag = inop autopilot. 3.5 hours of proof that the autopilot does a much better job than I do. The flight actually seemed to pass quicker with my attention much more focused on "flying" tasks. GIA or Roll Servo? Will know more tomorrow, but i've been getting a data path failure alert on startup for some time now. -dan
  7. You very well may be right. However, the concern here is that the EIS exhibited the same problem with the P-lead pickup interface or the UMA tach sending unit, which works completely independently from the mag. In my opinion, this points to a fundamental flaw in how the GEA24 (all variants) defines what counts as a pulse.
  8. Suggest downtown airport. Last time there great runway and service easy access to inter state . MCI airport is several miles from town and might be a choice if doing business NW of Kansas City. NOAA offices are there.
  9. Yep. Just twist it around one of the gaps. .040” works best, leave about 1/4” and tuck it up parallel to the hinge.
  10. Call the manufacturer and see if they will repair yours.
  11. What is the AP/IA comfortable signing off on is the best answer. We used to run high amperage solenoids to switch the power to high amperage radios. The metal cans would fail at a higher rate than the black plastic ones.
  12. No liability if- "adjusted landing gear preloads to factory specifications per maint manual section xxxx" I'll bet I could check 10 Mooneys and find the gear or elevator settings wrong on 50% of them.
  13. How is the safety wire secured between the gaps? Just twisted? Do you have any pictures?
  14. While people that don't know call everything a solenoid. In reality a solenoid uses electrical force into physical motion. Starter (what ingages with ring gear) is a solenoid.
  15. A '64 C model I worked on several years ago had this same problem. Turned out to be the master switch itself.
  16. @Rsmithref +1 MKC is a great airport to fly into. No tiedown fees at City Parking over by the self serve fuel pumps. You can call Avis MKC 816/931-1039 and they will drop off a car to Atlantic and you can walk around the corner to pick it up. Last time I was there airports were landing south and coming from west I flew right over midfield MCI, then turned south for a straight in Rwy 19 looking right at downtown.
  17. Yesterday
  18. Because taking over an existing lease with 20 years remaining and the availability of equipment in place is a whole lot better than auctioning off said equipment. Not sure how LASAR fits into that possibility but it is at least hopeful.
  19. Does anyone know where to find a pressure switch? PN 880013-505 All of the normal / listed sources are 'sold out'. Are there any replacement systems to explore? Thanks, Alec
  20. I don't know why you feel better. The "Aviation Property Network" posting "For Lease" is current. Look at the post - it says "2025 Copyright". They just happened to use an old PowerPoint slide pack from one of the many times that Kerrville County/City has needed to worry about Mooney as a tenant. Office / Shop For Lease at KERRVILLE MUNI/LOUIS SCHREINER FLD | Listing 2512
  21. My home town had an old fruit of The loom factory with about 500k sqft. When the textile industry left there were no takers. it cost the city about 800k a year to do the bare minimum in maintenance. they were so desperate for someone to take it they offered huge incentives hoping someone would at least cover the expenses. it is not cheap to maintain that size facility.
  22. That makes me feel a lot better! (Glad I didn't see it back in 2019)
  23. XM weather will give you the METAR for any airport and the FT.
  24. That document was created 6/12/2019
  25. Why do you want to go to MCI? MKC is right in town and they have cheap gas. I have been there twice once in 1995 and again in 2001. It was OK back then.
