I’m looking for smooth cool air, and a tail wind. They are not always at 9-10,000’, sometimes they are at lower altitudes. I aim for 380*F max in CHTs, closed (with an inch gap) cowl flaps, WOT and adjust fuel flow as outside air temp allows, but usually 9.3-11 gph and this all yields 153-158 knots true airspeed. 6 years now in my 1980 J, very pleased with the performance and fuel efficiency.

O2 regulator overhaul?

https://mooneyspace.com/topic/55054-o2-regulator-overhaul/?do=findComment&comment=942750

I talked to her as well but she was more expensive and didn’t seem to understand the type of regulator I have on the 252. It can be a real PIA to maintain but it has a three nice features. The first is long battery life, 6 years. The second is built in GPS which is superior. While many ELTs can be hooked to your panel avionics, if those fail due to electrical failure or fire, the Kannad unit will broadcast GPS position where it is at all times after activation. The third is if you are replacing an old ELT with RJ11 jacks connecting the ELT to the panel, Kannad makes a nice kit that interfaces the RJ11 wiring with a small panel switch to make installation almost plug and play. The negative, hard to get service. Kannad has got better and they sell the battery through Aircraft Spruce. I obtained the battery from Spruce and took it to a nearby authorized service center, Avgroup which has a facility in Norcross, GA. For 390 dollars the unit was throughly cleaned, and checked within a test chamber for 406mhz data integrity and signal integrity. It came back with an 8130 and all the test chamber results documented. It's not a big deal, some people just open it up and replace the battery and use the BITE check but I think it is a good idea every once in a while to give it a thorough check out in a test chamber.

Panel Pics

https://mooneyspace.com/topic/55001-panel-pics/?do=findComment&comment=942746

Aspen evolution and if I'm not mistaken Garmin 430 manuals call out specifically you do

FAA investigating after pilots heard meowing, barking over radio at DCA

https://mooneyspace.com/topic/55043-faa-investigating-after-pilots-heard-meowing-barking-over-radio-at-dca/?do=findComment&comment=942745

Gee, I'll bet they don't have any of those units around DC

G1000 Database glitch

https://mooneyspace.com/topic/55056-g1000-database-glitch/?do=findComment&comment=942744

How to Remove the Prompt to Update to an Old Database Cycle on the G1000

	To resolve this issue:

Remove the bottom SD cards out of the G1000 displays.

One at a time, insert the SD card into a computer.

Look for the "ldr_sys" folder on the SD card in the root directory. If found, delete the file.

Reinsert the bottom cards into their respective displays on the G1000.

I’ve been clicking ‘No’ to maintain the current most recent Database. and it has not been any problem from a functional standpoint.

This occurs only on the MFD.

And it still occurs on the MFD even if I switch SD cards from PFD to MFD.

I’ve ignored it for awhile because it’s not a functional issue, but It’s starting to get a little annoying. Any Ideas on cause or correction?

	Thanks in advance

Maybe -72 traps water, but the Aux fuel line is ~0.5" above lowest point anyway.
Also if removing the drain, there is little fuel left in aux tank when drained.

Maybe better to buy new drains instead of just changing the o-ring.

Alternate Part Numbers/Sources

https://mooneyspace.com/topic/55053-alternate-part-numberssources/?do=findComment&comment=942732

The seal would only leak if the transmission is over greased.
