randypugh Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Anyone having trouble getting parts? I taxied out on my way for an 800 mile trip with no alternator today. Straight to the maintenance shop and a couple hours trouble-shooting only to determine I need a votage regulator for my Ovation. Techs called all over the country and couldn't locate one. Mooney is closed till Jan 5 and none in stock anywhere. Tough to have such an investment and have to drive 16 hours for Christmas party.
The-sky-captain Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Give Quality Aircraft Accessories in Tulsa a try. I had an issue with an alternator a few months back and had no luck going the usual routes and they came through for me. The service was good and fast. Their number is 1.877.833.6948. I hope this helps and good luck getting the plane back in the air.
GeorgePerry Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I have had great luck with Lasar in CA and SWTA in TX. http://www.swta.net/ http://www.lasar.com/ Both have great service departments and you acutally get a human to answer the phone...not a machine. I've purchased parts from both and have had excellent service. Highly recommended.
randypugh Posted January 1, 2009 Author Report Posted January 1, 2009 Just for info- We located a voltage regulator @ Premier in Florida and they were happy to sell it to me for a mere $730.00. Because of the hollidays I had no options and made the purchase. After the fact I see Zephtronics has them for $190.00. I need to make a list of honest/fair places to do bussiness.
defrkm20j Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 Talking about voltage regulator, I want to change ours on our M20J. Does anyone have some good tips on how to do this in a most efficient way. THX
