NotarPilot Posted June 1, 2013 Report Posted June 1, 2013 I might need to replace my transmit switch and wondered if anyone knew the applicable part number for the yoke transmit switch. I can't seem to find it in the MSM. Thanks. Quote
Marauder Posted June 1, 2013 Report Posted June 1, 2013 Various suppliers. Depends a bit in the hole size already there. You are looking for a momentary contact switch. Jameco, Mouser, Allied and even RadioShack all carry stuff that will work. Quote
NotarPilot Posted June 2, 2013 Author Report Posted June 2, 2013 I would think it would have to be a PMA part, no? Quote
Marauder Posted June 2, 2013 Report Posted June 2, 2013 Can't answer that. But I know some parts can be used without it. A good example are the Sonalerts used for warning sounds. I am not aware of any FAA certification for those components. You can buy them directly from Mallory. Quote
N601RX Posted June 2, 2013 Report Posted June 2, 2013 Radio shack switch quality has went down the drain the last 10 years. They sell the cheapest plastic junk they can find now. Spruce sells some mil spec switches that hold up well. Allied and a few of the others listed above also have good quality switches. Quote
OR75 Posted June 2, 2013 Report Posted June 2, 2013 http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/edmomomentary4.php?clickkey=87033 easy to install if you know how to solder. don't forget to insert heat shrink for a neat aspect and isolation 1 Quote

I believe this one will but for some larger ones, you may have to run the wires through the hole then solder the switch Quote
NotarPilot Posted June 3, 2013 Author Report Posted June 3, 2013 Thanks to everyone for all the info. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 FWIW If the switch is intermittent, pull the button off and spray a generous amount of tri-flo into the switch. Work the switch a bunch of times and then wipe off the excess tri-flo. It will probably fix the switch and save you a bunch of trouble. Quote
