Various suppliers. Depends a bit in the hole size already there. You are looking for a momentary contact switch. Jameco, Mouser, Allied and even RadioShack all carry stuff that will work.

Can't answer that. But I know some parts can be used without it. A good example are the Sonalerts used for warning sounds. I am not aware of any FAA certification for those components. You can buy them directly from Mallory.

Radio shack switch quality has went down the drain the last 10 years. They sell the cheapest plastic junk they can find now. Spruce sells some mil spec switches that hold up well. Allied and a few of the others listed above also have good quality switches.

Great info, our copilot PTT is going bad.

if you intend to replace, make sure you check if the switch is small enough to go through the yoke ear hollow. I believe this one will but for some larger ones, you may have to run the wires through the hole then solder the switch

FWIW

If the switch is intermittent, pull the button off and spray a generous amount of tri-flo into the switch. Work the switch a bunch of times and then wipe off the excess tri-flo.

It will probably fix the switch and save you a bunch of trouble.
