Anyone ever seen "St Elmo's Fire" all over the airplane in heavy dry snow at altitude?

No and I never will.  I have a stated goal to never be in snow in a little plane.

Static electricity takes on a new dimension when that happens  :-)

If it came with static wicks from the factory they are  probably part of the TC and they all need to be there to be "technically"  legal

I've said several times that parts pricing today is based on what a new airplane TODAY will cost   @ 1 MILLION $$$$$

NOT the $45,000 in the 70s

What did a Ford F-150 cost in 1975 compared to today?  Have you priced Ford parts lately?

Not all over, and not in snow. But I got it once on the windshield flying south over San Mateo CA at about 5000 in the clouds. I could put my finger on the inside of the windshield and move the glow around. It was pretty, and pretty eerie.

You live in the right region for avoiding snow.  Common in the Mid-Atlantic to encounter snow squalls.  It's fun at night...you can turn on the landing light and tell the kids that you've accelerated to warp speed.

Maybe I am out of touch or LASAR took over aircraft spruce pricing model.  Just seems like a lot.  Didn't do any comparison shopping.

You can buy the stainless version, 2600-2SW, all day long for $8 at Airparts in Fort Lauderdale.

Me up high in the flight levels on big iron  It can go way out in front of the windshield like long spears

It was fun to call up new hire FAs to the cockpit and show them "the fire"  at night :-)

At least we're not fighting the "right to repair" battle....yet.

Don't give them any ideas, but I think the only place to repair Garmins is Garmin?

You don't have to shovel humidity was one of the best recruitment lines I ever heard for northern colleges.

Me and that white stuff don't get along! That's why I  live in the desert.

Me too. Where i live gets warm in the summer, but we have humidity, dirt, plants and trees.  :D

If i never see another snowflake, it will be too soon!
