jetdriven Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 You're going to paint the whole airplane refrigerator white? Just kidding. Good job. Quote
DaV8or Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Did you carefully record engine temps and flight speeds before? People always seem to wonder if the closure mods really do improve either cooling or speed. You could be a great data point on MooneySpace for others. EDIT: Nevermind. I just saw the 201 winshield thread and now understand you're doing both mods at once. Quote
dsimes Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 How much $ was the cowl closure and what was the labor component? I am in the market for that mod. Thx. Quote
Steve65E-NC Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 I think I would tape the three grey stripe to a one sided point just back from the rivit line and then use the the dark blue in a touch up gun to shorten/modify the stripes and blend the cowel closure. I thinking trying to bring the stripes up to the spinner (over the rivits and the seam) may not come out so clean. Quote
MARZ Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 Dave - Lasar sells the STC and enclosure for $490 theres a couple different install methods, I chose to sandwich the enclosure between the cowling pieces for what I considered a cleaner line. That took about 4 hours then the paint... Steve - yea that might work well - I'll play with some tape lines to see Quote
MARZ Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 Quote: N6719N I'd paint shark teeth on it! Quote
