PeteMc Posted July 12 Report Posted July 12 Who knew there were a bunch of Mites flying around Eastern WA! Went to the Deer Park (KDEW) Fly-In today and as we were leaving I saw a distinctinve, but small, tail down at one of the hangars. I found not one but TWO airworth Mites there with a band playing in the hangar. Turns out the woman on the keyboard also has yet another Mite, so three in the general area. Of the two there, one had a metal prop and one still had a wooden prop. Makes me wonder if WA is the Mite captal of the world!!! 2
Igor_U Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 Pete, no pictures? I remember seeing one at Port Townsend (0S9) almost 2 decades ago.
PT20J Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 The one at 0S9 is hanging in the Port Townsend Aero Museum. Sadly, it’s not airworthy due to bug damage to the spar. 1
jeremyc209 Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 We've got one here at KCPU, I believe the owner flies it.. saw him at the pump the other day. He's thinking about selling. Very cool to see in person!

Though we did end up speaking (I believe) to the owners briefly, so I should have asked. Maybe they are here and will post pics??? Nice planes!
