What is the typical useful load of the Eagle or non TKS Ovation ?

Is there a max TOW increase for the 310 HP upgrade Screaming Eagle

What is the smallest measurement between the rear seat and the back of the baggage area (near the top of the back seat ) of the long body Mooneys ? I've been told it is 11" over the J

THanks for any info

My useful load is 977.5 lbs. My gross TOW is 3200 lbs. I have a standard Eagle. I hope that helps. Of course useful varies with equipment and such, your mileage may vary.

The 310 HP STC from Mid West Mooney which was licensed by MAC for the Ovation 3 increases the gorss to 3368 same as the Ovation. My useful load is 1122. Fuel capacity is increased to 89 gals useful with the STC same as the Ovation. I believe that can be modified to 102 gals which is the full capacity of the tanks. Be aware that the initial Mid West Mooney STC was for a 280 HP increase. If you find one of those Eagles expect to pay 5 K if you want it upgraded. That is what I did but the T/O performance is much better than an Ovation 1/2 or the latter M20J MSE's with the increased gross weight allowance. Speed performance is also better but mostly because the Eagles are lighter with less equipment and sound prooffing (ANR's are required equipment) and of course can operate at higher RPM in cruise with the attendent higher fuel burns.

In terms of the baggage area I am not sure of the measurement but  it depends on weather you have the seat back fully up or reclined. Obviously you can remove the seat back to increase baggage capacity but as I recall the back seat foot space is also bigger than the short or mid bodies. Friends I have that are big find the back seat is more comfortable than the front seat.

Thanks for the replies all, I had no Idea the useful load was that high on the 310 upgrade that is good information as I have been considering an F33a but love my small Mooney.   I have the need to carry 4 adults 300 nm. and I want to be able to carry my Lab. in her dog crate in the baggage area.  The Seat will need to fold forward to load her in the crate and ther recline the seat for a passenger  the crate is 20" W X 30" X 24" High, do you think this will work for this mission?

Cris,  What kind of time can I expect to climb to 8000'  @  Max Gw  ISA +20 ??

thanks,   Ty

Ty The 310 STC performance charts do not include a time to climb chart but an ISA of 15 at sea level & 105 kt's @ 2700 rpm yields 1700 f/m decreasing to 1130 f/m at 8000' & -1. For charts not included one is to use the M20R chart but that chart understates the performance since it is restricted to 2500 rpm vs the Screamin' Eagle's 2700 rpm. For performance charts including the 310 hp STC try Deltaaviationllc.com

Roughly speaking,

If it fits in the Tahoe, it will fit in the O1...  The seats fold down.  1,000#  useful.

4 seats for 4 ordinary people.

It's like the J, but bigger and faster.

It's like the C, but bigger, faster, more IFR capable, and much more expensive.

Best regards,
