It's actually not too bad. I replaced the headliner in my plane last year. You have to take the side window plastic panels off and also the metal trim that's around the windsheild. From there, just start removing the thing starting in the front and working back. It's not fun, but doable. I would take the front seats out as it makes working and moving in there much easier.

I had to do this twice since I started putting the new headliner up and got to the last section only to find that the lady had sewed it on backwards! I had to take the whole thing back down, have her resew that little piece and then reinstall the whole thing. I feel like a pro at it now! Laughing

I need to remove the headliner so i can unclog the drain line to the roof vent.  Has anyone attempted this and survived?

I have died twice while doing it, and I have the scars to prove it...........I hate taking out and putting in interiors. There always is hardware left over, missing or the wrong size.

When we think we are having fun working on a Mooney, someone needs an interior removed, and the punishment begins.

Just dont forget to support the panels as you take them out or you will hear that horrible sound when sun rotted plastic goes "ccccrrrrrraaaaackcckkkckkkk" and it falls on your head.

Also put each panel's screws in nice little plastic bags and attached to each panel, DO NOT throw them all into one bucket / can/ bowl and think you know where they all go, because you dont know.

Do not re insert a semi stripped out screw, replace it so the next time you have to take it out, it will finish stripping out and you have to drill it out.

good luck
