Tyler G Posted May 16, 2024 Report Posted May 16, 2024 (edited) I'm reaching out to see if anyone knows a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) who can help me with some crucial tasks on my 1996 Mooney Ovation (C-GJOG). Specifically, I need assistance with mounting the engine and propeller. There are also a few other items that need attention. The aircraft has been grounded for nearly a year. Unfortunately, my current AME hasn't been able to make any progress or provide a timeline, and I really need to get these tasks completed as soon as possible. If you know someone who could help or if you have any recommendations, please let me know. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. The plane is currently sitting in MY hanger. The first problem is not insignificant, but the second problem will likely be monumental. Quote
PeteMc Posted May 16, 2024 Report Posted May 16, 2024 Hopefully someone here will have a contact for you. But I'd also suggest posting something on Facebook in the Flights Above The Pacific Northwest - FATPNW group. And is it a C or N registered aircraft? That will probably also be a factor. Quote

I will try that. Quote
glenn reynolds Posted June 23, 2024 Report Posted June 23, 2024 My recommendation would be airsea in Campbell river. I have had them work on my Mooney ovation and they have more resources than any other shop I have ever used. While they are not Mooney men per say, when you walk through the three hangers and look at the projects they are doing, which include hanging diesel engines on beavers and taking smashed turbine airplanes which arrive in a shipping container with fuselage twist, you will see that they have both the engineering and the fabrication skills. They also do salvage recovery work so their team is not adverse to travel. I can also say that their prices was very fair. Hope this helps. Quote

glenn reynolds Posted June 24, 2024 Report Posted June 24, 2024 My apologies, my memory got it a little convoluted. there are two divisions: the flight training group and the repair and maintenance division. Here is the link to the repair division https://www.sealandaviation.com/?q=overhaul-aircraft-engines.php Quote
