Aerospace Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 So I live in an airpark now. I flew VFR from CRG to CPM, good times. Now I need connections for everything from a good pilot supply store, maintainer, painter, flying buddies, etc. I'm in 54CL on the weekends and CPM during the week. 54CL in the pics. That's me heading into town for the work week. 3 Quote
EricJ Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 Nice! That looks like a great place and an interesting commute! Quote
carusoam Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 Got pics of the air park? I’m always trying to promote this idea… one of these days, I’m going to be living within walking distance to my plane…. -a- Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 What route do you fly from 54CL to KCPM? Do you do it VFR or IFR? Quote
Aerospace Posted April 19 Author Report Posted April 19 I don't have many pics. It's called Lake Riverside Estates. I fly VFR direct and use flight following on the way in so the various C and D airspaces aren't any problem. I'm always below the LAX B. On the way home, I usually don't use flight following, my climb let's me go direct and avoid all the spaces. I'm not IFR rated yet and need to find a CFI for it; rather than using one of the pilot mills. 3 Quote
Niko182 Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 Aircraft Spruce is in corona and they'll deliver to the airport. Probably the best aircraft supply store one can have. I always flew to the corona airport and would get oil and other things needed there. I'd call them in the runup area at John Wayne and they'd be there 3 to 5 minutes after I landed at corona. Probably works with either Compton or 54CL as well. 1 Quote
Aerospace Posted April 19 Author Report Posted April 19 Thanks for the tip! That would work perfectly. Quote
Aerospace Posted April 26 Author Report Posted April 26 Any CFI references? I need to get IFR certified asap, this seattle wx is killing me. Also need an avionics shop reference. Jesse Saint started on my ship but I don't want to have to fly to FL for a GNS530 to IFD 540 swap Quote

Jesse Saint started on my ship but I don't want to have to fly to FL for a GNS530 to IFD 540 swap I flew a J in the LA area (FUL and WHP) for a long time. One good reference is Kevin Schiff (Schiff aviation) at KWHP (Whiteman). He did 7 or 8 of my Mooney annuals, and is well connected to several independent CFI's who can help you with your IFR. PM if you want contact info. Coincidentally, I am in the Seattle area, now. We just had several good sunny days! It has been amazing! Quote

Some students bought it from the owner a year or two ago and are no longer leasing it back. Quote

wombat Posted April 27 Report Posted April 27 @gacoon No, he's in socal, but saying the WX feels like its Seattle. I see that you are from Auburn, WA though. That's where I did all my training, with Northwest Aviation College in 2009-2011! It's a great little airport! Quote
