In my perfect airplane, there would be two busses.  Essential and Other.  Essential would be alt and batt.   Other would only be alternator powered. :)

There is current approval for IO360 powered airplanes which have the battery behind the baggage area, but not for O 360 powered airplanes like mine that have the battery forward of the firewall.  

Would my M20C be approved since the battery is now behind the baggage area due to the LASAR cowl mod, or is it not approved due to where it was when it left the factory?

I have a serious aft CG problem, and removing 20lb from the tail would be a huge help.

If you have a “serious” aft CG problem, I would be skeptical of the calculations.

This something you’d have to discuss with your IA.   The STC wouldn’t apply to your plane but it may be possible to do it with a 337 since your planes battery set up is now like the aircraft the STC does apply to.
