Comatose Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 As i sit here in my plane... at a closed dark airport... for the next hour... I am wondering why nobody mentions this disadvantage of flying a Mooney... going so much faster means waiting at the airport. Assuming the pilot's lounge is closed, what does everyone here do to kill time when in this predicament? Other than post to Mooneyspace.
dcrogers11 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 I turn off WingX on my Ipad and play a movie on it.
jetdriven Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 You can always pull it back to 100 knots and 5 GPH. Then you can spend you time flying instead of waiting, and take less fuel per trip than a Cessna 152.
jax88 Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Go around letting the air out of the tires on all the "C" branded aircraft?
PTK Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 It's actually an advantage. You'll be the first one there when they open! You won't have to wait in line! You can also think of it as having the flexibility to choose. Be the first one there when they open or, as Byron said, pull her back and be there when they are open! I like the former as the latter would be sheer self inflicted torture!
HopePilot Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Flight Control app/game for the iPad is fun.
David Mazer Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 You might leave a little later and get more sleep.
MagicCarpet Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 You have it backwards... Knowing you can get there faster, you can leave later or take more time getting ready to leave later! :-)

2jetman Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 It says in my Bravo's owners manual that on an average, mooney drivers get at least one hour more sleep before a morning flight than Cessna and Piper pilots.
