This is a long shot I’m in canada ( toronto) and I need a tug or sidewinder ( hopefully used ) for a Mooney bravo tls 98.  Our local airport cykz just closed and I moved the plane. Now I need a tug of some sort that will work with the plane ! Contact me here or send details. I know this is real long shot!!!!!

To be honest from what I have seen, the differential between used and new Sidewinders in price is less than 20 gallons of 100LL. Might as well order one.

I have a gas powered tug that I have no use for. It came with my plane, and I've never used it. Only started it up a few times to make sure it runs. I can try to get pics of it next time Im at the hanger. But it should work for your if it works for my J right?

As with any battery powered thing the age of the Lithium battery should be taken into consideration.

It’s possible that the degradation of the battery from age could offset any savings buying used. 28V Milwaukee batteries aren’t cheap. $180 or so?

Yes, while the battery cost did not enter my thinking, good point. I hear that Redline is discontinuing the M28 battery in favor of the M18 as Milwaukee says the new M18 is just a powerful and durable and cheaper to replace. Might be a reason to buy a new unit as well

I wasn’t aware the 28V is going away, I’d be surprised if the lower volt is just as powerful, methinks more likely the 28V due to its cost doesn't sell well enough to warrant continued production.
You can get an idea if it is by battery size and weight, if the 18V is as big and heavy then it may in fact be as “powerful”

The battery is not going away but the line of M28 tools is being phased out. Seems the new generation of M18 has the same torque and power. A Milwaukee rep told me it is about consolidating the production, but that M28 batteries will be available for many years to come.
