Looking for references on ferry pilots/ instructors-

I found a nice list in the mooney flyer, was hoping people could connect me with people they had personal experience with.

Thanks,

Where you are or where the airplane is would help.

If you are planning to pick it up, you may just need an instructor. Not a bad way to start the dual requirements for your insurance,

Aircraft is located in Oregon, need to bring it to KSDC near Rochester NY.

Dream scenario is to fly back , getting instruction along the way.

Try Mooney Pros, Mike Elliot on this site, they ferried my acclaim from Calgary to Texas and gave me transition training. He did  transition training for the Mooney co when they had a sale.

How many hours of dual do you need?

I went to where my plane was and the instructor also traveled there.  We did 5.5 hours dual (needed 5) and then I flew the plane home solo to more than satisfy the 5 hour solo requirement.

By doing it this was, we could concentrate on things I needed, not just fly a cross country.

This is what I did too, although was lucky enough to find an instructor local to where the plane was at. The real pain was getting my insurance to sign off on him due to age but eventually they were happy to approve him as long as it was just for that transition training and not as a soloing pilot in the plane on his own.

Definitely was great being able to focus on getting those hours and on hitting as many landings as we could. Then a nice long cross country solo back to my home.
