Mcstealth Posted September 11, 2023 Report Posted September 11, 2023 Has anyone viewed the SpaceX rocket launch in South, TX? Where to park? South Padre too far? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks David Quote

I spent my working years at Vandenberg Air Force Base [now Space Force Base], here on the left coast, and had the great opportunity to view many, many launches over the years. Hope you get to see the launch!! 2 Quote

mike_elliott Posted September 11, 2023 Report Posted September 11, 2023 Elon works in warp speed...It was Spacex that developed and gave the list of issues to address to the FAA. The FAA does not hire expertise in these areas so that was smart to work with the guys who actually know what they are doing. David, you should be able to see that from the country club up on the hill! I can see what they launch from Kennedy from my house on the other side of the state usually, and this sucker will be lighting up the sky if at night. 1 Quote
M20F Posted September 14, 2023 Report Posted September 14, 2023 The key is to sneak into the TFR right at launch. If you are really lucky you might get to see some flares in addition to the rocket. Quite the light show. 1 Quote
