GI275 MFD as #2 CDI

I have a GTN650 & 430W. 650 is hooked to my G5HSI, 430 hooked to a GI106A.

If I was to replace the GI106 with a 275mfd can I hook both 650/430 into the 275 so I can get weather maps etc from the 650 on it too?

Sure.  Not sure with the 430 if you need their adapter box, but I don't think so.  

I have a GTN and GNC350 hooked into my GI271 which is my Backup AI.  And the display is different, but you may want to look at all the features and make the 275 your primary.

Yes.  The GI275 MFD will get its nav data from the 430 either from RS232 or A429. The manual will tell you. It gets all the data from the GTN via HSDB. I have one setup this way.

As to whether you can display weather/traffic on the GI 275, it depends on the weather source.  If the weather source is a GDL 69 SXM or weather/traffic from a GTX 345 it will work but if weather/traffic comes from a GDL 88 or weather from a GDL 69 (not SXM) it will not work.

I get the wx being adsb might not work. Why wouldn't the traffic with the GDL 88 not work? It's displayed on the 650 and the 430w.

The GDL 88 is not supported on the GI 275, I'm not sure why but it is documented that way and we tried every option to try to get it to work and it wouldn't.  I really wish they would support it as I'm considering swapping out the GDL 88 and GTX 327 for a GTX 345 to get weather and traffic on the GI 275.

That might make me do that then. I might do my panel in phases because it's already ok. I usually just leave the 430w in traffic in the terminal area and the 650 on map. I can live for a while. I'm sure they don't support the GDL 88 just to get you to fork over and buy a 345.
