I removed the 8 inspection panels under the rear seat to make sure everything looked ok.  They were still taped down with the original tape and had never been removed. This is an area that you can't really see very well from the bottom side.  I didn't find any corrosion, but did find a couple of very large dirt dobber nest  built on the retract rods as well as a large rat nest made from the old fiberglass insulation. There was also a lot of "trash" that had accumulated over the years. The good news was the back side of the spar still looked like new and there was no corossion.

What do you think guys.  Would it be a good idea for him to spray some Corrosion X in there, or would that gunk thinks up (i.e. make an eventual mess)?

I removed all of the interior at my first annual inspection to make sure the SB208 was indeed done and removed the same panels. I had nothing in the area there but did spray it with "X" because I wanted to discourage any critters from building in there, now I check in there at least once a year becauseI know of a fellow that had a 201 that was home to a mouse which damaged the spar because of the acid in the urine. The wing had to be replaced, I am very vigilant looking for critters after seeing what havoc they can cause. I also know a fellow who had to do lots of work to a Maule to repair wiring damage cased by rodents.

Are the bottom seats attached in some way on the back, under the vertical part of the seats that I can't see?  Because last time I was trying to remove them I could not get them to come out and I gave up.  I have a 1968 M20 C.
