Renting a complex aircraft is difficult due to insurance requirements.  Ordinarily to fly one that doesn't belong to you, you must be a named insured on a policy, which requires that you have a certain amount of time in type.

If you had enough time in type, found someone willing to rent to you and add you to their insurance, and passed a check ride, then rental would have to be at least $200/h wet based on what it costs to operate a C.  There may be options for renters insurance, but I don't know.

DuBois Aviation at Chino Airport rents their M20B for $180/hr wet.  I'm not sure what their current requirements are for solo flight, but before I owned my own plane I rented this plane and I needed a 10 hour checkout (no prior Mooney time, but I already had hi-perf/complex time.  AVEMCO renters policy was all they required.

Might depend on how it’s equipped too. All new panel and avionics with a new engine and interior might be different rate than 50yr old radios and instruments with high time engine and old interior and exterior.
