Lionudakis Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 another solution to stripped out holes that I use frequently, By the time they've been oversized and stripped a few times (from a #6, 8, then #10), you can usually get a small rivnut in the hole, and use a machine screw with a washer it requires a tool to install, but if it ever re-strips, you can drill it out and replace it. If its on an edge, you can use a U-type tinnerman nut. Quote
Shadrach Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 The stripped out interior screw issue can ussually be solved by using a screw that is "one size up". You could use a brass brush on the landing gear, then feather in stripped sections with light sanding, scuff the whole thing with scotch-brite, mask and paint. If it were me, I'd remove and powder coat it and be done with it for a long time... The radio and glideslope issues need to be handled by an avionics professional. Quote
