I found this link when trying to figure out what database I'm going to need.

https://support.jeppesen.com/article?&aid=kA24W0000005GlE

I have a 540 and 440 installed in my aircraft, Does this mean I only need to purchase one database subscription and I can load it into both boxes?

Anyone else doing this? Any limitations?

The way I understand it, you still have to buy a database subscription per navigator, but they do offer discounts when you're buying for 2 navigators vs just buying for 1 (i.e. you don't pay the same price x 2, you pay 1 lower price for the both). You can setup your aircraft and avionics on shop.jeppesen.com and see what the offers are

Largely-agree.

Jeppesen offers "bundle" options depending on what avionics package(s) you have.  The "bundling" options cater obviously more to those with full-suite (all-Garmin, all-Avidyne, etc.) cockpits, but a call would definitely be in order to see what they can offer anyone with dissimilar hardware onboard.

Also - calling them often yields better pricing than going online.  Although you've been able to order subscriptions from Boeing/Jeppesen like ordering online from a restaurant, I've found in the past that by calling and actually speaking with someone, my rates have been a bit lower and they were able to adjust pricing downward somewhat.

You’ll need a dual subscription which they offer at a discount over 2 separate ones.
the software keeps track as you “program” the data card and will only allow you to program what your subscription allows for.
