I have an out of town friend who is deep into Microsoft Flight Simulator with the latest and most powerful Nvidia graphic cards, processors, dual big screens and even VR. In it he flies big iron and also has installed the Mooney Ovation sim into it since he has been inside my plane on the ground and really likes it. His last flight in the Ovation Sim was a trip around Chilean airports. Has flown commercial but not in a small plane and never had the opportunity to actually handle the controls in any type of plane. So.... I took him flying when we could coordinate our schedules. Unfortunately it was a very windy and gusty day. Even at 5,500 ft it was fairly bumpy. I handed him the controls at that altitude and he did very well. Of course it was not the same experience as in the sim!! :D

Landing was "interesting" :);)

Nicely done. That doesn’t look wide enough for my f250 much less for me to land, lol.
Thomas.

LOL!! it's 24 ft wide. Your F250 should fit. May not fit two lanes though...

Thought you would get a break under the tree line, but looked like fun ride all the way down.  Sweet landing.

Thank you KB4!!  When under the tree line at times will be just as bad because the wind then drops with the runway gap and pushes you down with that downdraft. Other times it does die down but then you have to reverse the correction you had above the tree line. Always "interesting" ;)

That was my thought too!

Anyway, good landing and thanks for sharing.  Always fun to watch successful landings.  :)

Nice video, ending with a good landing and a good job keeping it on the centre line.
