jamesm Posted January 22, 2022 Report Posted January 22, 2022 HI, I am trying to find a wiring diagram /pinout for the GMC 507 (Mode Control panel) I am not having much success on the web. I found something close but it didn't have the signal names/function on the last row (bottom) pins 11 - 15 though I believe pin 15 is ground. I am interested in knowing what pins 12-14 are (signal names)? Thanks, James '67C Quote

jamesm Posted January 23, 2022 Author Report Posted January 23, 2022 I guess I am not very good Googler , for the life of me I could find it anything that resembled signal function and pinout GFC500 GMC507 panel DB 15 pin connector. I kept expecting to find some experimental aircraft design or builder leaking some of the information installation manual or maintenance manual out on the web. It's interesting that Garmin didn't keep the first 9 pins assignments the same a 9 pins of G5 pin out. as I understand it part of design criteria G5 and GFC 500 was to design inexpensive display and autopilot using common off the shelf parts. Thanks again I appreciate it. James Quote
carusoam Posted January 23, 2022 Report Posted January 23, 2022 The G5 team was different than the GFC team or the GI275 team… Big company with several segments… the G5 was born in the experimental part of the business then went certified with more testing… -a- Quote

If you search for installation manuals with Google, you can sometimes find some that have leaked out. I believe that the G3X Touch, G5 and GFC 500 were all designed by Team X. As for the pin assignments -- who knows? It doesn't really make a difference as long as they are documented. Quote
