Ulysse Posted May 11, 2021 Report Posted May 11, 2021 hello, I just ferried with a friend of mine my M20K Encore from south africa to italy. A seven days long journey! We flew between 5 and 6 hours/day and carried a 33 gal turtlepac. The management of this extra fuel made me wish for three features in the garmin g3x: - A coutdown timer - A fuel alarm based on fuel used rather than time - An independant fuel management for each tank. Since the g3x is new to me, maybe some of these features are already present ? Thank you for your comments
carusoam Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 Welcome aboard Ulysse! Got any pics of your trip? Often, Mooneys have a fuel flow meter that has a totalizer for total gallons used... That sure would have made your flying a bit more comfortable... Post a pic of your instrument panel... we can probably point out what else you have... There are a few G3X users around here as well... I don’t recall what it has for engine information Systems... (EIS) If yours has the EIS... that is a really powerful system if hooked up to everything... Best regards, -a-

Not sure how I can share a picture of the panel. I am using the "add files" button 8 hours ago, carusoam said: Got any pics of your trip? https://photos.app.goo.gl/mCqmVMFcfBB2SBcg8 I hope the above link works 3
carusoam Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 Great pics! Link worked perfectly in NJ.... There must be a a fuel used amount that goes with the FF on the G3X... Some instruments show the abbreviation USD for used.... Best regards, -a-
Nippernaper Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 I've had a g3x touch for almost two years, and the fuel flow/remaining/used quantities are not well integrated. I don't believe you can even add them as data fields at tge top of the display. Nit sure about s countdown timer, will look into that.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
