I've been using Tempest filters for years with no problems.  Substitute the CH with AA & don't worry about the number after the '-', they're a few $$ cheaper.

For O engine questions... I always invite @StevenL757... (oil filter)

Personally, Champion is a tough choice... variable resistor spark plugs went on too long... too little, too few, reasearch/product improvements in the brand’s stable...

Best regards,

We had some folks from Tempest come and give a presentation at our EAA meeting. They basically took over the old Autolite facility, to start their company. They are very good folks who care deeply about the quality of their products. They are proud to go up against "Goliath" and build a better product and they have done just that. Their spark plugs have proven better and I buy their filters because I like to support small business, especially in aviation. We need more competition.

Same.  Just ordered last week.  I usually carry a couple of boxes and replenish when I get down to around 2 or 3 filters remaining.

This!  I love to support smaller companies that do a better job.  I have removed anything Champion in my plane and replaced with Tempest.

I find it interesting that the Mooney Service Manual reverse to a CH48109 (REplace your CH with AA if you like Tempest) and people here are pointing the shorter XX48108. The filter media is smaller in the smaller can 48108, I wonder if that has an impact on the filtration or capacity? Both will fit (the 48109 of course being a bit tighter in headroom.
