Does anyone know if there is a solenoid between the flap switch and the flap motor ('77 J Model), if so where would it be located?

If you don't have it already, the Mooney Service Manual for the M20J can be downloaded for free, and Vol2 has the electrical schematics.   I have a 77 J as well, and the schematic shows just the up-down limit switches and the flap actuator switch in the cabin.   The limit switches are at the motor/jackscrew which can be accessed by removing the belly panel between the flaps.
