Medical mistakes is one of the biggest killers but nobody seems interested in reforming that.    Apparently it's more important to suppress the cheapest form of energy there is in the universe.  ;)

I’ll bite. How would you suggest we “reform medical mistakes?”

There was a good article in Flying a while back by Dr. Karl that touched on it.   There is a ton of room for process improvements.

Nice article. I agree with most of it. That being said, I don’t see how that article in any way supports your assertion that “nobody seems interested in reforming that.” It seems that the article does just the opposite.

The statement you made is quite strong and contrary to my personal experience as well as being pretty insulting and disrespectful to the medical profession as a whole. I guess you must have your reasons why you felt it appropriate and necessary to make that statement on this forum but the logic certainly escapes me.

I observe that you have an exposed nerve on the topic.

It was a simple statement about the relative observed societal importance between something that is consistently one of the largest causes of mortality and one that has caused few.   I thought the gist of the comparison would be obvious, but apparently not.

I think I understand your intent, I just think you have no clue what you’re talking about. It may be that my experience differs from yours because I have seen a tremendous amount of effort directed at reducing the morbidly and mortality from medical errors and in contrast have seen very little effort focused at reducing mortality from nuclear power plants.

Yes, you touched a nerve. I have a special kind of disgust reserved for those who speak authoritatively on those subjects that they know almost nothing about. I understand that in the current era of “alternative facts” and the prioritizing of “feelings” over “science” this sort of behavior has become commonplace but I personally find it offensive and irresponsible. I also think it has absolutely no relevance to the topic being discussed and seems to represent your particular axe to grind more than anything remotely meaningful, accurate or helpful.

I fully support your right to make a knee-jerk judgement about somebody you've never met based on a colloquial side comment in an internet forum.

I’m glad we were able to reach an understanding. ;)

There you go misreading things again.
