Did you ever get your mags pressurized?  It’s all factory installed.

They are pressurized...they always have been.  Previously -MB with Bendix  (now -SB with Slicks installed) engines.

Who's rebuilding them? same shop? Just went through a mag issue on a 172, both had 700+ hrs since points and condensers were replaced by a local A&P, the right mag  had over 2000hrs total time and according to the logs. Went with New Slick Mag Kit, which had Mags, Harness, Gskts, Plugs and Hardware, was $300 more than getting rebuilt mags and a harness

I’d love to get 700 hours.  I’ve yet to get 100.  The local FBO shop is sending them off each time, to Aircraft Magneto Service if I recall.

In doing research on which way to go, I heard that Quality Aircraft Accessories (QAA) is the only factory authorized service center for Slick Magnetos, also saw where some of the shops were using non factory parts and were having failures. My issue was the mag would go completely dead (sometimes), 1st time engines died just after touch down and would restart until it was completely cooled off, 2nd time was just after touch down but was able to keep it running (really rough) and do a mag check, dead right mag and a left mag was crapping out....

That’s interesting.  I’ll ask them about this.

I believe that it correct.  QAA is the “factory approved” overhauler, but that doesn’t mean that others can’t do it by following the manual.  If the OP is getting Kelly Aerospace “overhauled” units all bets are off.

Im curious to know the nature of the repeated failures.

I’m with you on what has failed, I saw a bunch of negatives for Kelly’s rebuilt mags.

The biggest issue is the coils sold by Kelly simply don't last. The slick coils are significantly more expensive but will generally make TBO if they aren't subjected to extreme heat.

I had a horrible mag experience with QAA back in 2015. Quality might be in their name but definitely not in the way they do business. I've used Aero Accessories in Van Nuys CA. Their prices are fair and their turnaround time was excellent.

Never personally had any dealings with QAA, I know they were several hundred bucks more for their rebuilt Sicks than everyone else.
