RLCarter Posted October 9, 2019 Report Posted October 9, 2019 Congrats, you now having the ability to fly when others are stuck on the ground. Stay proficient and currency won't be an issue
eman1200 Posted October 11, 2019 Report Posted October 11, 2019 Congrats! I am also recently certified and just landed from my first solo IFR flight. In and out of the soup at 8k for over an hour. Being in the clouds is NOTHING like foggles. This was a good introductory instrument flight, gonna need some more to get comfy again. 1
HXG Posted October 11, 2019 Report Posted October 11, 2019 Congrats! You will always be learning. Make sure you use that IFR rating. File and fly IFR often even if it’s a beautiful VFR day. Stay current and proficient. Work your way toward lower minimums and don’t hesitate to fly with a CFII to gain more actual IMC experience. 1
urbanti Posted October 13, 2019 Report Posted October 13, 2019 Congrats, and be super careful anytime about possibility of ice any time the temp at altitude may be near freezing. Be skeptical of the local guy at the field who brags about how much ice his plane will carry. Good luck! Tim 1
urbanti Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 I should have said, “...be skeptical of the local guy on the field who brags about how much ice his plane will carry unless he flies a DC-3!” Tim 1
