kmyfm20s Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Just bought some Phillips XC 20W50 on Amazon for $86 + freee shipping. I see they have the other popular brands as well. I also bought CamGuard. As a bonus I didn’t have to pay CA sales tax. Quote
RLCarter Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Aircraft Spruce is $64 for a case, I just purchased 2 cases from a local distributor for $126 which included sales tax. Quote
wiguy Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 My supply may have a bit over 1 oil change left. I’ll maybe mail order or restock at Oshkosh in July. Surprised CA wasn’t able to nab you on Amazon sales tax? No longer tax free here in WI. Quote
Yetti Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 I see $99 case AS W100. I have to drive across town, but I think I pay $78/case I also happen to live in the energy capital of the world. 1 Quote
kmyfm20s Posted February 27, 2019 Author Report Posted February 27, 2019 You guys get better prices than I do for sure. For me this is a nice convenience and I save a couple dollars. Quote
Bob - S50 Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Petroleum Service Company. Phillips 20w-50XC, $54.94/case. I used to buy from them and order two cases because shipping for two cases was the same cost as shipping one case. Came out to something like $135 for two cases including shipping. That's shipping from PA to the west coast (WA). Might be cheaper for those on the east coast. I now buy from a local distributor for about $56/case including tax. 4 2 Quote
Bryan Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Phillips 20w-50XC, $65.15/case local oil company (tax included) - 4 miles from the airport. Quote

gsxrpilot Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Hey JD... can I get an oil change. Cost - $74.40 a case - installed 1 Quote
Shadrach Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 I paid $67 a case locally for XC back in September. Price was up to $75 this month. I can get it from a local wholesaler but I like flying in to the pilot shop where I buy oil, filters, fasteners etc. 1 Quote

jaylw314 Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Does anyone get it from their local A&P? I get Aeroshell W100 Plus for $92 a case, I just pick one up if I'm nearby. Of course, we don't have sales tax here in OR 1 Quote

lotsofgadgets Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 $55/case at Oshkosh, includes free ride back to your campsite with the purchase of 3 or more. I bought 6 ;-) Wound up selling 2 cases to the neighbors and have enough left to make it to Oshkosh to restock. 2 Quote
jetdriven Posted February 28, 2019 Report Posted February 28, 2019 Aircraft Spruce just lowered their requirement for free shipping to $350. X/C is 64$/case so buy your filters, camguard, other parts and stuff then add cases of oil to meet 350$. Quote

Normally a large fraction of the cost of Tks is hazmat shipping. Quote
jetdriven Posted February 28, 2019 Report Posted February 28, 2019 I do not know. I guess shipping for TKS fluid for your de-iced airplane is a first world problem ?? Jk 1 Quote

Since I live on the California coast it lasts me all winter! Quote

It was something like $21/gal all in - from a cheaper vendor - I’ll look up to remind myself which one. when I got this plane ten years ago it was close to $10/gallon all in I think. well it’s liquid gold if you need it and to expensive to go flying in ice all the time even if you didn’t have appropriate respect for the safety factor of flying in ice even w Tks. jetdriven Posted February 28, 2019 Report Posted February 28, 2019 (edited) We finally got to the age where we could afford a Airpark house in Houston. But we had to sell the airplane to affford the house. I’ve never seen a 200 mph house, except in Kansas and it was a single use. so we passed on the deal Edited February 28, 2019 by jetdriven 3 Quote
