Aircraft IFR Certification DFW Area

Anyone know a place that will do an IFR check / certification on an aircraft for cheap innthe DFW area?

Pitot Static tests etc.

Wriston Aviation 214 212-0499. He will come to you. I don't remember what he charges. But if you take it my buddies at Avionics 1st at RBD, they will have him do it, for the same price (He discounts it to them).

I mis-spoke earlier. Avionics 1st does their own inspections. The last price I can find was about $350.

It is interesting to me that various shops do the check in various ways.  The guy I use INSISTS that the altimeter must be removed from the aircraft and bench tested.  A nearby shop says, "not necessary", it can be checked/calibrated in the panel.

Who knows?

Removing the altimeter from my panel is not a fun chore and tends to be very time consuming.   Additionally, it just seems like one more way to induce a leak into the static system.

Some shops differentiate between a VFR pitot-static check and an IFR pitot static check and charge two different rates.  Others say, "a pitot-static check is a pitot-static check"; same price.
