kj2016 Posted November 25, 2017 Report Posted November 25, 2017 I have Mooney ovation 3 with G1000 with GFC 700 autopilot. My electric trim switch is only working in one direction. Autopilot is able to control the trim in both directions. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Apparently some have had issue with wiring coming loose in the yoke. We are planning to look into yoke on Monday Quote
Robert C. Posted November 26, 2017 Report Posted November 26, 2017 I had runaway trim and stuck (electric) trim issues that were traced to chafed wires in the yoke. So loose wires and chafed wires are good hypotheses. Good luck! -Robert Quote
carqwik Posted November 26, 2017 Report Posted November 26, 2017 Spray electrical contact cleaner on it first...let it sit for a few minutes, then try to see if it works. Knock on wood...this has always solved my issues with the yoke trim switch not working at times. Quote
Lee A. Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 The wires soldered onto back of trim switches can get brittle and break off. When you open it be very careful as most likely other wires will break off when you remove it. Watch for where the wires go. Wires need to be resoldered with shrink wrap and silicon to stabilize the wires against movement. After all that, the trim positions may need recalibration in the G1000. Quote
thinwing Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 Also if you can get contact cleaner to the contacts..work them for a bit to clean corrosion off Quote
