flhelo Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Got my old seats out and having them upholstered. Also, Have Alpha seat belts with the Inertial reel inbound on short final. They should be here today. Carpeting is also inbound from Airtex. Seats should be ready for pickup Tuesday or Wednesday. Also have the new soundproofing so I will be pulling out the old fiberglass looking stuff and putting the new stuff in while the interior is out. Got the door panel and pilots side panel on departure enroute. figure I will have my A&P look at the tubes while I have everything out. Pics to follow. Quote
scottfromiowa Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Sounds great! What does carpet run from Airtex? Quote
OR75 Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 where did you get soundproofing material from ? pre-cut ? cost ? Quote
flhelo Posted January 21, 2011 Author Report Posted January 21, 2011 The floor carpeting costs $239.00. The sidewall carpeting depends on the year: 55-64 $951.00, 65-later $467. Mostly pre-cut. If you have the fuel selector in between the pilots feet, you have to do the cutting. Might be more but that is what I can remember from the phone conversation. Cost me right around $800 with tax and shipping. Quote
OR75 Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 my soundproofing is "gone" disintegrated after so many years. I still wonder about the benefit of reinstalling a new one. Quote
flhelo Posted January 21, 2011 Author Report Posted January 21, 2011 where did you get soundproofing material from ? pre-cut ? cost ? Got the sound proofing from LASAR (Lake Aero). Went with it off the roll by the foot. Got it a little over a year ago, cant remember the price. They also have it(did) pre cut for your aircraft. But it was a few $$hundred more. I figure with my week on/off I have the time to do it. Quote

OR75 Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 It was like that from the few pieces I have left. I had my interior redone 5 years ago but no insulation was installed or replaced. The only insulation left is above the bagage compartment. Behind the side panels, it is all wires and tubes and then plane skin. Quote
flight2000 Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 If I remember correctly, it was something like $240 for the set. Includes all of the paperwork for the logs stating it meets FAA quidelines for fire, etc..... Brian Quote
scottfromiowa Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Thanks, regarding carpet price. I would love to see a couple of photos of carpet...and sidewall...not yet installed if you get the time. Thanks in advance, Scott Quote
flight2000 Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Quote: flhelo Is yours the older material that looks like house insulation? Mine is. So that is why I am upgradeing the insulation/soundproofing. Quote
flhelo Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 ok, Here are a couple of pics of the new seats. Sorry my cell takes small pics. Talked to Airtex today and the carpet is on backorder. Should be shipped in about 2 1/2 weeks. That's ok, gives me more time to do a more thorough job with the soundproofing and the Amsafe seatbelts(inertial reel). Hhmm, was thinking with that down time, I may just have to change those old and ugly looking panhead screws on all the side windows to countersunk. Might be coincidental since my girlfriend said I could put in new 1/4" smoked glass!!!! Glad that she supports my hobbies! I really do support hers! More to follow in the upcoming weeks as things progress. Quote
aerobat95 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Very nice.....can't wait to see it all done Quote
