Badmoonraising Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 I am still very much a new owner of a 64 M20E. I'd like to upgrade my front seats and would like to know if the seats from an M20J 201 will fit my rails? I hope this doesn't qualify as a dumb question Quote

Badmoonraising Posted February 4, 2017 Author Report Posted February 4, 2017 Well thank you Bob! That could be a slight problem. What should I be looking for? As I said, I'd like to upgrade my seats. Quote

As I said, I'd like to upgrade my seats. Well, reupholstering with leather and improved foam cushioning is a common upgrade. I had mine done by a local auto trim shop. (The flame spread spec for aviation materials - seat covers, head liners, side panels, carpet - is not particularly tough to meet, automotive grade materials should pass easily.) For high end results there a highly recommended shop in San Antonio TX who does a lot of Mooneys. Hector Fernandez will do a complete interior but he will also upgrade seats that you send him. http://aerocomfort.com/ There a number of threads here dealing with interior upgrades. Quote
rbridges Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 Reupholstering would be most simple and cost effective. My C has articulating seats, so I'm thinking they came from a later model. I also have the Johnson bar. Quote
jpjp Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) They will fit the rails on an E model also. Edited February 5, 2017 by jpjp Typo Quote

rbridges Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 not sure where they got these seats, but they are fully articulating. The johnson bar works fine. 1 Quote
