TheTurtle Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 (edited) I got some new decals to replace the peeling faded ones. I didnt want just plain black arial font but didnt want to get to wild so I went with a burgundy that matches the paint pretty well and a font called terminator2.. Everything was going great until the last decal for the window speed warning. Lost a D somehow... The company i got them from replaces screwups for free so I think Ill just get a "DO" and be ok. I keep forgetting to hit the brakes on gear up so I got a decal for the gear down lock. Sometime last week hangar elves put some new wing walk paint on the wing and step. I thank them and will leave cookies next time. It came out pretty good. Edited September 4, 2016 by TheTurtle 2 Quote
Hank Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 Looks good! Did you just find someone local with a vinyl cutter? Question: what's up with your canopy cover? I guess that's what the straps in the 2nd & 3rd photos are. 1 Quote

I used https://doityourselflettering.com It wasnt all that cheap but I couldnt find it cheaper anywhere else short of hand stenciling with individual letters. Heres a better shot of the canopy cover Quote

My window says "Do not open above 150 mph," but I rarely open it until after my feet are on the brakes on rollout and often after I clear the runway. I close it at runup and leave it closed for takeoff unless I have to wait (just like the door). anybody ever open their window in the air? Quote
carusoam Posted September 5, 2016 Report Posted September 5, 2016 I recall taxiing with my hand halfway out the window.... Closed for T/O. Best regards, -a- Quote

Incredible suction would pull everything out. Wife in the passenger seat said she couldn't smell it at all, so I wasn't even worried about the gyro instruments. Since quitting, I've never opened it in flight. Quote
