TWinter Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 Anyone have a good source for having the new panel etched or engraved..I called Hendrix and they only do it if they are doing the whole panel, something about the machining process and them wanting to work with it before the panel is cut. The panels are near ready for powder coat. I hate to have generic stickers put on and ruin all this custom work. I'll try a few more shops that are listed on the web. I'll also mention it to Hector at AeroComfort, he may have a source, but has anybody used someone after the panel was cut for install and just needed the etching done? -Tom Quote

I believe when they post the new pictures they mention powder coating and silk screening the lettering on rather than etching it in. The ones I have seen are very nice looking. https://www.facebook.com/#!/MonarchAviation/ That is their facebook link just in case you wanted to give them a holler. 1 Quote
Schinderhannes Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 When I redid my panel I used a silk screen printer recommended by one of the high end avionics shops in Scottsdale. I did the layout of of all text and graphics in AutoCAD and translated the file to CorelDRAW. I would assume you can find a silk screen printer in your area who can help you, even with out a CAD design. From my conversation with the printer it was my understanding that the avionics shops don't use CAD and he does the layout per their direction. 1 Quote

eman1200 Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 silly question, but does it have to be done by an avionics place? maybe other non-aviation related places could do this for you. I don't know, just thinking out loud. Quote

I don't know, just thinking out loud. Not silly at all. I have a local trophy shop here in town and also a few sign/shirt shops that do lettering etc..might be worth looking into. I just thought if someone knew of a shop they had used recently it might be worth a call since they knew avionics terms and so forth...but you do have a very good point. Thanks.. -Tom Quote
Chocks Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 Yep, I can do any panels. Once they're engraved, we color the engravings. That's something that most forget about. My pricing is a little higher than silkscreen and setup, but this never fades or wears off. Let me know if you have questions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4 Quote

I always get nervous when someone includes the wording, " My prices might be a little higer than...." lol Lets talk and go from there. Thanks -Tom Quote
