The " Boogie man "  is bringing one back this time , it is a 65 E with 2200TT , and 6XX on the engine , should be a relatively short project ,

If you can....    Post a picture of log#1, page #1.... AW signature by Bill Wheat.

1965 was my favorite year...  N59XXs were built late in the year.

That sure is a funny prop shadow..?

Best regards,

Well that explains your previous post looking for a prop!!!  Barnstormers has an overhauled one for sale, but it's a little pricy for us cheap bastards.  Glade to here another aircraft being resurrected instead of scraped.

This is awesome! I wish I could restore everyone I see!

I'll post a pic of mine with the log book as well just for fun

I wonder if this was a prop strike. Look carefully at the prop itself. Doesn't it look like some paint is missing on the first stripe?

I assume this is the same plane:

If it hit a snowbank hard enough to bend internal steering components I could imagine it had a prop strike as well.

Sorry.  Apparently, I was too dry pan, I was joking...  Yes, as far as I can understand it had a prop strike.  The shadow just looked cool.

I'm just finishing my 65 M20E after a years work. She sat for 4 years before it was given to me. The project has been long and expensive, much more than I expected. I should have the interior finished in a couple of weeks. Considering I'm an A&P and I have done all the work, I'll have about 20 grand more invested than I can sale it for. The last item left is to remove the gear so I can replace the briskets and bushings.  IMG_0627 (1).JPG

It still has the shimmy damper on the nose gear. You don't see many of those anymore.

I have one. In the hangar.

Subtle modernization of the best of the old school paint schemes.  You nailed it!!

If I ever have to repaint my blue and white C, I will use pix of yours as the template.

Almost wish current paint wasn't in such good shape

Ok , I think from careful examination of the parts , the steering/rudder jackshaft failed , and this caused the accident , It should be of concern to owners of these legacy aircraft.....It is enough of a problem , that Lasar makes a beefed up version of the part...... The replacement I used was the beefed up version....

Also the Crank dialed a big fat ZERO , life is good.....

Have you replaced the crankshaft gear bolt and the bolt lock plate yet?  It can be done without removing the engine from the airframe.

I was looking at my parts manual, I'm not certain I know which part you're talking about.

Can you tell me which part I should be looking at on the attached diagram?  Thanks!
