I purchased the CYA AOA with the intent of having Ezell avionics install the unit but I've got all the inspections panels, seats, interior panels pulled for an annual and after searching Mooney Space thought this might be something my IA might be willing to do. I initially thought the wire could be routed through the front of the wing with the nav light wiring but there's a section between the fuel tank and next rib that doesn't have an access panel. I'm not sure how one would replace the pitot tube hose if needed. Anyhow, it appears to me that the only way to route the wires would be through the wheel well exiting aft of the spar. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I know....I've been needy the past couple of days..... :)

Mine is installed in the left wing and I am pretty sure it was not routed to through the wheel well, but now you got me wondering and will check my wheel well tomorrow. My mechanic did tell me that if I never needed to replace the pitot drain it would be a nightmare to get to, so I think I know what you mean by lack of accessibility.

I noticed today that someone in the past has rerouted the tubing for the wing leveler in the right wing. They went through the wheel well. There doesn't appear to be any other option unless you try to fish from one rib to the next. I hadn't noticed before, but there's a 1/4 hole at the front of the wing in the bay that doesn't have any access panels. I guess it's a vent hole.

i am going to mount mine in the right wing, same distance as the pitot tube. Don't want too much weight on one side...... :)

I looked in my wheel well today. I didn't see anything new there. My mechanic must have routed it somehow through the wing.

I did much of my installation in my E myself, installing the sensor in the right wing symmetric with the pitot, I snaked the wires inside the wing. You'll need something stiff to use as a snake, particularly to go through that section in front of the fuel cells that does not have an access panel. You or your A&P should have no problem. You do not need to go to the avionics shop. I installed the display in the top of the panel in my prime field of vision between the Aspen and the BU ASI.

Thanks guys, we took a wire clothes hanger and were able to fish thru the front of the fuel bay just as you described Bob. Managed to keep the wire towards the front of the wing and away from the aileron rods
