RobertGary1 Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 I'm looking to fill an available 3" round hole with a backup electric attitude indicator. Falcon has some amazing prices on their units. Googling around I see some have a low opinion on them but I'm not sure if it's based on true experience or just "it's cheap" attitude. Has anyone here run one of these? Any specific experiences? -Robert Quote
carusoam Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 (edited) Does it come with the proper requirements to mount in a Mooney? is this the one... http://www.falcongauge.com I clicked on the 28V model and it said a few things... http://www.aircraftspruce.com/pages/in/falcon_att/gh02e3al.php It has a 12v light? It is non TSO'd. It is made in China. Price 1.7 AMU. Can you share a link of what you are looking for? best regards, -a- Edited September 27, 2015 by carusoam Quote
jetdriven Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 I don't think it matters. They are not TSO'd. http://www.falcongauge.com/support/FAQnested.htm Quote
RobertGary1 Posted September 27, 2015 Author Report Posted September 27, 2015 (edited) Not too worried about non-TSO'd. The FSDO will field approve it. I've already spoken with them. The TSO is only an issue for 135. -Robert Edited September 27, 2015 by RobertGary1 Quote
jetdriven Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 Is it going to be the only backup attitude instrument? Quote
RobertGary1 Posted September 27, 2015 Author Report Posted September 27, 2015 Still have my certified turn coordinator. Not removing anything. No min standard to meet because it serves no regulatory function. Only requirement is that it's not in the "primary view" meaning it's outside of the 6 pack. -Robert Quote
Alan Fox Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 He is right about the TSO not being required , but if it is not a PMA'd part , it wont get a field approval.... Quote
