Wildhorsesracing Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 It looks like it'll fit nicely in the luggage area and could make travel to remote FBO's fun! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA7YS31H7390&Tpk=9SIA7YS31H7390 1 Quote
DS1980 Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 Does it have a compartment for a first aid kit? 1 Quote
DAVIDWH Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 And we all thought Chapo Guzmans track mounted, tunnel traveling motorcycle was the latest in mobile tech. Quote
Hank Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 I've seen them, they're interesting. Expensive, but interesting. One wheel and a shoulder bag . . . Quote
Shadrach Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 Battery tech has just come so far in the last 5 years... This is an impressive test - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=krg9smEWnIU I guarantee there are folks on this board that would have a tough time completing this challenge under their own power. I used to live in this neighbor hood and I'm surprised that a 35lb scooter is this robust. Quote
N601RX Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 Solo Wheel was the 1st one I saw out a few years ago. I think it sold for around $1600 when it came out. Battery technology has come a long way. We design radios at work and warranty the D cell non rechargeable battery life for 20 years of short transmissions spaced 15 seconds apart. Quote
Wildhorsesracing Posted July 19, 2015 Author Report Posted July 19, 2015 I used to own a pair of segways - this looks like it would do the same thing and weigh a lot less. 1 Quote
M016576 Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 The hardest part of owning one of those would be explaining to people that you're not a clown. 1 Quote
ArtVandelay Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 The hardest part of owning one of those would be explaining to people that you're not a clown. I don't know, but why do I think a trip to the emergency room would be in my future if I tried to ride that? 2 Quote
N601RX Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 I noticed that training wheels are a $75 option. Quote
DaV8or Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 On another pilot forum these machines came up for discussion. I was interested and did some Googeling. I was surprised by the fact that there are dozens of companies making these with a huge price spread. All of these devices come from China and all of the companies I could find were actually Chinese companies. My assumption is, that this is a Chinese invention and there are no patents on it. Anyhow, I'm old and cranky, so that level of China, China, China really turned me off. I'd like to ride one for the experience, but I won't be buying one. Quote
