I'm a new pilot and would really like to get a closer look at a Mooney, If there's anyone nearby who might like to show me their airplane  I would certainly appreciate it very much! Of course I would pay "my share" of fuel if a ride was offered, and maybe lunch? I'd like to purchase an airplane in the next few months, and I'm trying to determine if I can/should go with a Mooney. Thank you!

I was just there last Thursday,  my AME has his office on the field so I fly to/from (33 mins) vs a 90 min drive.

Where are you located ?

What's the nearest airport.

I'm in Greensboro, I keep my plane at southeast airport and fly every week end weather permitting. Give me a call 336 601 0879.

I got to fly with Hernan today in his F, great airplane, and Hernan's a really nice guy! Compared to the 172 I normally fly, the Mooney felt much more stable, like it just wanted to go where it was pointed without any fuss. Also, I was perfectly comfortable, we weren't rubbing shoulders like I did with my CFI in the 172; I knew I'd like it, but I REALLY liked it!

Hey Heloman, you didn't mention anything about flying 40 knots faster. Lol. And yes, most mooney pilots are great. I have met several on this board, and it's amazing what a good group of guys they are.

Which reminds me of a funny Cessna story. A buddy of mine bought a nice Cessna 172N and I owned the M20F. We agreed to meet at the Jamestown NY airport for lunch. After lunch, we took off with him departing first and me afterwards. My really young daughter was in the car seat in the co-pilot's seat. She looks over to see me passing my buddy and blurted out "Why is Uncle Sonny (her term of endearment to my friend) flying backwards?". I looked over and saw the optical illusion of him flying backwards. Still remember that story to this day...
