Aerodon Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Andy, this is a nice high serial number system at a really good price for the buyer. I have some new and used connectors and install parts if you need anything. Don Quote
KSMooniac Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 I have some brackets and such that came out of a Mooney as well if a buyer needs stuff for a new install. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk Quote
andysbasement180 Posted May 26, 2015 Author Report Posted May 26, 2015 bump for new low price. $1500. Quote
Hernan Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 Would this system work with a garmin 430? Quote
Alan Fox Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 Yes it will work with anything but Narco....Pretty standard stuff Quote
Hernan Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Hi Andy, I'm interested in the KCS-55A system let me know what's the next step, where are you located?.You can reach me at Hernan@durangohomerepair.com or my cell (336) 601 0879. Thank you Hernan Quote
Hernan Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Alan, thank you for information, I'm a fairly new mooney owner and still trying to learn as much as I can about my bird. Thank you again. Quote
PTK Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Alan, thank you for information, I'm a fairly new mooney owner and still trying to learn as much as I can about my bird. Thank you again. Hernan have you consulted an avionics installer and looked into the costs and what's involved to install in your plane? Quote
Alan Fox Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Herman , The install costs will be about 40 hours labor , also if you don't have a GNS430 or a KX165 or SL30 you will need to buy a KN72 nav converter ....also plan on spending about 400 to 600 for a bench check.....best to talk to the installing tech for more input... Quote
PTK Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Herman, for installation figure more like 60 hours min. With connectors, harnesses and checks you can estimate approx. 6500$ min. to install. Those connectors aren't cheap. The price is very good. Just iron down your install costs. Quote
KSMooniac Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Connectors can be scrounged-up, but making and installing the harness is time consuming. It is a good opportunity for sweat equity, though, if the buyer is so inclined and has a shop that will work with him. I think I still have some of the connectors for such a system, as well as the mounting trays/brackets for the remote gyro and flux gate. Quote
Alan Fox Posted May 28, 2015 Report Posted May 28, 2015 I have all of the connectors and the mount for the gyro , you can have everything for 200.00 that will be 6 connectors , and a mount with the new style isolators.... Quote
Aerodon Posted May 28, 2015 Report Posted May 28, 2015 As I said before, that is a real sweet price for a high serial number like this one. Here's what a harness for it would look like - you can see there is a large quantity of wire that needs to be routed from the panel to the rear avionics bay (gyro), and from the panel and rear avionics to the wingtip (fluxgate). Quote
Hernan Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 Went a different rout (GI-106A), thank you all for all the good information. Quote

Aerodon Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 That is intimidating! Not really, when you unwind it and lay it out, it all makes sense. But a lot of wire for sure. Don Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 10 years ago I would have given my eye teeth to get this system for this price. But with Aspen systems and such it seems like a bit of a dinosaur. It would be a good deal for a spare if you have one installed. Quote
