AndyFromCB Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Many of us have our fingers crossed for the last word on this thread. That way you could go back to your job, your family and honing your flying skills. According to Scott, it's best if most of us don't work, you know, stealing the taxpayers' $$$. That includes you, Daver328, with Essential Air Service Act http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_Air_Service Currently bilking the taxpayer for $241 million a year ;-) Cheers, and yes, the weather is way to crappy in Iowa to go flying today, but a perfect day for replace a rotten patio door. Old houses are like legislation, don't open them up if you're not ready for what you will find. Rot everywhere.

scottfromiowa Posted November 22, 2014 Author Report Posted November 22, 2014 The only thing you got right is that it is a perfect day-To watch Bucky take down Iowa in their house. I look forward to watching it with my family...IF I can drag myself away from Mooneyspace.
flyboy0681 Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Sigh ... LATEST SOCIALIST ARGUING TECHNIQUE: socialists CAN'T WAIT to tell us how great government is and what government does for us. And they search mountain and valley to find some government spending which they may use to attack conservatives - some sort of government spending that may have benefitted a conservative directly. You stay classy! I'm on record as wanting to cut all pork and waste, from farm subsidies to corporate handouts.
scottfromiowa Posted November 26, 2014 Author Report Posted November 26, 2014 Incentives for business's to hire illegal aliens (No penalty to employers for not providing health insurance vs. fine) AND they will be eligible for S.S. and Medicare benefits. -Another Obama debacle.

Let's file this away for a while, next to the one million ebola cases by the end of the year, and see how it gels.
scottfromiowa Posted November 26, 2014 Author Report Posted November 26, 2014 Glad to be wrong about ebola and right about Badgers.
flyboy0681 Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 More to my point about the ignorance of American's. I got one question wrong. The results of the survey did not shock me in the least. http://www.pewresearch.org/quiz/the-news-iq-quiz/
scottfromiowa Posted November 26, 2014 Author Report Posted November 26, 2014 I also got one answer wrong. Guessed high on percent at or below poverty line....
flyboy0681 Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 I also got one answer wrong. Guessed high on percent at or below poverty line.... Scary, that's what i did. I said 25%.
scottfromiowa Posted November 27, 2014 Author Report Posted November 27, 2014 Scary, that's what i did. I said 25%. +1 Now THAT is funny.
flyboy0681 Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 +1 Now THAT is funny. I guess we get our news from the wrong source 1
flyboy0681 Posted November 28, 2014 Report Posted November 28, 2014 So Scott, as an American from the state of Iowa, should Chris Christie be dropped from the race because of this potential act of kindness? http://news.yahoo.com/christies-decision-pig-crates-down-wire-191903239--election.html
flyboy0681 Posted November 28, 2014 Report Posted November 28, 2014 Thanks for discussing and asking questions about your Yahoo news today! Mike Brown protestors and hip-hop/rap artist celebrities are boycotting "Black Friday sales!" Does that mean shopping violence and shoplifting thefts at stores will be down dramatically this year - since that crowd won't be in attendance? http://news.yahoo.com/celebrities-call-black-friday-boycott-050726527.html I must be really getting old, I don't even know who Kat Graham or Jesse Williams is. I think I know who Simmons is, isn't he the fellow that wears tight, stripped shorts?
flyboy0681 Posted November 29, 2014 Report Posted November 29, 2014 I wouldn't vote for Christie. Even if it was for traffic crossing guard on my busy corner. Pig farmers are doing just fine in Iowa right now. I have been in several hog confinement operations over the years. Took 7 showers in one day and had my daughter tell me how much I stunk when I got home... Both of you didn't get my point, which tells me I wasn't exacting enough. My point was, should a candidate be disqualified and dropped from the race simply because the farmers of one state, Iowa in this case, don't agree with a bill that he signed as governor in another state.
carusoam Posted November 29, 2014 Report Posted November 29, 2014 Is Biden an automatic selection for the Democratic Party for the next round? Or does he start at the same level as the other unknown candidates? Best regards, -a-
flyboy0681 Posted November 29, 2014 Report Posted November 29, 2014 Gentlemen, gentlemen, don't get your panties in a bunch. Once again for the record, and contrary to what the you both feel, I believe American's should get healthcare when they need it, but as I've said here many times, ACA (not sure why you keep using AHA?), is not the answer. I still don't know - and can't come to grips with - why if between 85 & 90% of American's were already covered by their employers that we needed such a dramatic overhaul to get another 10% onboard. But by the same token, you both believe very highly in self-reliance and responsibility, yet feel that your employer and American businesses should pay for and supply your coverage. Isn't that against the conservative mantra at its very core?? Imagine how profitable American businesses would be if they didn't have to shell out $1k or more a month for each employee for health coverage. As far as your comment about ethics is concerned, I wasn't aware that Republican politician's had a monopoly on clean living. But a few weeks ago I did present a link here to a website which summarized, by administration, the number of politician's that had been indicted and gone on to being convicted, and the GOP outranked the democrats (fact, not fiction) over the past 40 years. Just ask me again and I'll post it for your viewing pleasure. And since you mentioned Rubio, let me remind you that he's in favor of immigration reform and amnesty, so you know what that means. My original point in all this was that there have been, and are going to be, very good candidates, but they won't get out of the starting gate because of the Iowa caucus simply because they may not necessarily play by "their" rules. How a tiny state like Iowa (population 3 million, about the same as Manhattan, and 92% white) came to dictate who was going to go on to become president still remains a complete mystery to me - and millions of American's. Jon Huntsman was a good candidate and extremely well qualified in my opinion, but he rubbed the good people of Iowa the wrong way I suppose. Thankfully they have a good track record of picking losers, Rick Santorum comes to mind as does Mike Huckabee.
carusoam Posted November 29, 2014 Report Posted November 29, 2014 Pop. Manhattan... 1.6MM (1 of 5 Burroughs of NYC) Pop. Iowa... 3.1MM Pop NYC... 8.4MM ------------ It is amazing to me the failure rate of high level politicians. The personal disasters they fall by in the public eye...(sex, drugs and alcohol related)

flyboy0681 Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 Corporations are made of people....people.-Charlton Heston...or was that Soylent Green? Correction, corporations are people. Go Noles!
AndyFromCB Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 The conservative voter base is a different audience with a different set of ethics. You just wouldn't understand.
flyboy0681 Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 It's called a competitive benefits package. Funny how when it affects your own pocketbook you latch on to private sector welfare. How utterly convenient.
flyboy0681 Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 Private sector welfare-You just making this up as you go? Pretty funny. What do you mean I'm funny? Funny how? I mean, what's funny about me? I'm funny how? Funny like a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh? I'm here to amuse you? So what the F is is so funny about me?
flyboy0681 Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Just an update since the election: Ebola - what is happening with that? Another guy just got out of the hospital and we don't even hear about it. Obamacare - signups are increasing again and annual premium rate increases came in lower than projections. 5 million parents don't have to worry about deportation. Ferguson riots fizzled out. Looks like the citizens wasted their hard earned dollars on guns that they didn't need. What's up with ISIL these days? Yup, in retreat (see my comments from October). Didn't Boner say there will be no government shutdown or defunding as a result of the immigration EO? Guess Ted Cruz didn't get the memo. At the elections, Putin was beating the crap out of Obama, the GOP loved him but now Russia is going into a deep recession due to oil prices and sanctions which the president pushed for. Gas prices? What happened with the republican lawsuit against Obama? Thus far 2 $500/hr law firms have walked away. The Keystone pipeline? Total number of wars we are involved in? By this time McCain had us in seven (not including with Russia). Last but not least, the seventh (but certainly not last) GOP led House subcommittee investigation into Benghazi found no fault with the administration.
