mulro767 Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 My Hoskins strobes are acting up again. Looks like the power source is failing. It's only flashing once every three seconds or so on the left side and close to ten on the right. I've decided to replace with all LED this fall at my next annual. What product and part numbers have you used and do they require a form 337? Is there a way to remove the coffee can belly mounted rotating beacon with an all inclusive LED wingtip strobe/ACL combo? Thanks in advance for any info, recs or pictures you can add. Brian Quote
Hank Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 When my flashing belly beacon died, I copied down the part number, etc., and visited the Whelen booth at SNF. Showed them w hat I had, asked for a replacement. In just two short months, I received a new LED belly flasher that fit the old hole, used the same adapter plate and mounting screws, is about half as large and twice as bright and took me ~15 minutes to install and a little longer for the IA to drop in and check things before I screwed the mounting plate to the fuselage. While waiting, the silicone caulk skinned over nicely. I'm sure they will be running specials at Oshkosh, and you may not even need to be there to get a discount. 1 Quote
