When is the next Mooney Summit?

Pete, we are currently planning for October. The weather in Panama City, Fl. is great then. We are starting to put it all together now and We will formally announce it a bit later, once we can firm up some agenda's of the Subject Matter experts and who is going to be on the schedule.  Consider donating a dental camera for a door prize! They only cost about $50 on Ebay for a cheapie that works well as a bore scope. It would have been nice to have had Ed come and present on lubrication, as even you must admit, he has the resume and qualifications to be able to educate, but that just wont happen. Besides, the last thing I (or any of the original attendee's and presenters) want is for the Summit to turn into a weenie waggin' pissin match. Someone else may have a venue for that.

I may have someone from Exxon do a seminar or possibly Phillips. Both have expressed an interest. Both have highly qualified people to educate.

Just an FYI,

Here in South Florida, cylinder rust is a constant problem. As soon as our flight department started using Camguard, cylinder rust stopped. It's that simple.

Conversely, I've been noticing small, circular, soft deposit "balls" at the base of my sparkplugs, in all the aircraft I use Camguard in. I spoke to Ed about this and I'm not satisfied that it's something other than Camguard causing this. Note: all of my aircraft, aerobatic or otherwise, consume oil. Plenty of oil finds it's way on to the plugs. It's the nature of our operation.

Send me some of the little "balls" for analysis.

Are they observed in all your flight department aircraft that use Camguard?

Ed,

I'd be glad to do so. I'll try to do this myself. And, you have asked me for this before. However, the folks I have working for me don't seem to understand what I want, and go forward with plug cleaning. I've started using TCP for other reasons and this has resulted in fewer fouling incidents.

Yes, the soft balls seem to be universal to my operation and every piston aircraft gets Camguard. It does not seem to cause any trouble. Some time ago, I thought I had a fouled plug and pulled said plug, found the balls. However, it was actually an intermittently sticky exhaust valve causing the misfire.
