You're running too high a power setting in my opinion (85%).  TIT is OK. Your chances of making TBO at that setting... not good.

Don, what do you recommend for cruise power? I have been running 30/2300, but with the high cost of OH want to maximize engine life.

I too run at about 30/22. I figure this about 75%. I am also curious as to Don's thoughts about this setting.

I found that my engine runs much smoother at 2400 than 2200. Does your engine run as smooth at 2200 as at 2400?

I typically cruise at 2400/26" at around 15.5 gph.

Not so much smoother but quieter. You will note that 22 is the lowest allowable rpm setting. I have always likened lower rpm settings in cruise to be analogous to driving a car in the higher gears(i.e. lower rpms) on the highway. The engine works less hard and the gas consumption is less. At 30/22 I am typically burning 15.5 to 16 gph as well.
