Thanks guys. I agree. Don sounds like a great guy and knows his Mooneys. Maybe my flight instructor would like to go cross country with me and land at lots of airportsb on the way for practice??

Landing at lots of airports is great training! If your instructor can't make the trip, visit lots of airports around Chattanooga and get used to varying sight pictures, runway configurations and slopes. Then fly out to GGG and visit Don.

There should be plenty of used hardware available to convert to the new style disk and then you can just buy the new style disk.  I don't think I would want to buy the kit to do this.  I've saw the complete new style gear sell on ebay for around $500 per leg and if I remember correctly that included wheel, brakes and everything. You could also check with the salvage yards.

I have done this on a B model before , You will need the donuts , the Stack tubes , the top large washers , and the collars , All the other hardware is the same and can be reused ,   Your goodyear donots are over 30 years old......The Lords came out in 65 , and they stopped making the goodyears in the 70s ....As far as the bracket , you are going to grind off about a 1/4" from the front casting as described in the bulletin , no brackets needed......The hardware is easy to find , and is the same for (I think) all post 65 mooneys...

What about the nose gear? On an M20B, will the stack tube, top washer, and collar be sufficient? Looks like the SB-139a also calls for the replacement of the 540004 with 540004-501 leg assembly. The parts to remove/parts to install list has many new part numbers. Are all of these required to meet the SB, or can I get by using most of my original parts(assuming they are still airworthy)? Thanks!

I think I have the stack tubes to convert the mains....The nose will also need a new stack tube if not already converted......Generally the tubes are too rusty to reuse from the old style stacks...
