N601RX Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 I recently flew into an airport that had a flight school who was catering to foreign students. One was flying a twin and the radio conversation was so bad that the instructor was repeating every radio call that the student was making. No one was asking him to, he was just doing it because he knew that no one could understand it. Quote
Mooneymite Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 If the radio calls from the big flight school students in FL and AZ are any indications, we have no domestic flight students...only foreign! Some of the radio transmissions are completely unintelligible to me, but it's obvious the controllers have a lot of experience deciphering the jibberish. I don't think this has anything to do with third class medicals unless they incorporate a basic English test. Instead of D E F P O T E C, perhaps the eye chart should incorporate "See spot run"? 1 Quote
phecksel Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 Follow the money, always follow the money. How many FAA employees are involved in the medical aspect? How many would have nothing to do if Class III went away? Remember, there are school children's lives at stake here. Quote

I am so depressed that I'm beginning to believe this is the single most compelling reason the government does everything it does. It reminds me of the seen in “Blazing Saddles”, where Mel Brookes is saying – gentlemen, we need to protect or phony, bologna jobs. Quote
